91 Youth Leaders and Interns participated in the 2026 Summer Enrichment Program, supporting the program with dedication and enthusiasm. The Pasadena Educational Foundation extends its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the high schoolers who helped our summer be the best that it could be.
To show our thanks and to celebrate a fun summer, PEF held an ice cream social for its volunteers at Handel’s Ice Cream. Hand-packed quarts of Raspberry Cream Dream, fresh spun chocolate milkshakes, and chocolate dipped waffle bowls topped with shiny maraschino cherries were just some of the tasty treats volunteers used their celebratory coupons on. With special thanks to Handel’s and their delicious ice cream, our volunteers wrapped up this summer with some cool treats.
These motivated volunteers contributed thousands of hours to support PEF’s summer enrichment classes. Our teachers had glowing reviews about our volunteers’ efforts in the classroom and how they helped classes run smoothly. The mentorship and enthusiasm of our Youth Leaders and Interns also significantly enhanced the learning experience for our younger students, giving them a chance to hang out with the “cool older kids” and making the summer more than just classes. And while many of these volunteers are expected to return again next summer, PEF sends its best wishes to those heading out into the world to seek new endeavors.
