Pasadena Educational Foundation is pleased to recognize the recent corporate volunteer effort of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. employees in helping to prepare produce boxes for distribution to Pasadena Unified School District families last Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
The Alexandria Real Estate Equities Operation CARE Program was instrumental in making this volunteer effort possible. The program is committed to giving back to the communities where they operate by providing assistance to local organizations that support education, health, and community wellness. This volunteer effort by its Pasadena employees in partnership with Pasadena Educational Foundation is a testament to this commitment.
With produce provided by CalFresh and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, food boxes were prepared by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc employees. These boxes are an important resource for families in the Pasadena Unified School District. Each month, they contain a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that promote healthy eating habits and provide essential nutrients for growing children.
Encouraging healthy eating habits is crucial to the overall well-being of our children. Research shows that children who consume a diet rich in fruits and vegetables have a lower risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer later in life. By supporting the PUSD Farm to School Program which has garnered CalFresh grants to provide this produce to families in need, Pasadena Educational Foundation and Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc are helping to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent chronic diseases.
This volunteer effort by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc employees is an excellent example of how corporate social responsibility can have a positive impact in our own neighborhoods.
