Webster Foundation Donates $60,000 for Internship Stipends [Media Release]

Pasadena Educational Foundation Receives a $60,000 Donation from Helen & Will Webster Foundation
Donation Supports Summer Internship Stipends for Pasadena Unified High School Students

PASADENA, CA – The Pasadena Educational Foundation is excited to announce that it has received a generous $60,000 donation from the Helen and Will Webster Foundation to support paid summer internship stipends for high school students in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). The funds will provide essential financial support to students who participate in internships that offer hands-on experience and career exploration opportunities.

Student internships are critical for students to gain valuable work experience and develop critical job skills. Additionally, work-based learning helps alleviate a common issue for young jobseekers: having relevant work experience that is hard to gain outside of the workplace. Providing stipends for internships helps level the playing field by ensuring that all students have equal access to these career-building opportunities, regardless of their financial situation.

“We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from our long-time community supporters the Helen and Will Webster Foundation,” said Patrick Conyers, Executive Director of the Pasadena Educational Foundation. “Thanks to their support, we can provide summer internship stipends to PUSD high school students that will support their growth and provide relevant work experience toward future employment.”

Dr. Brian McDonald, Superintendent of PUSD, stated, “We are grateful for the continued support of the Helen and Will Webster Foundation. This donation ensures that more students can participate in valuable internship opportunities that prepare them for their future. This is a great example of how our community can come together to support the success of all students.”

The Pasadena Educational Foundation is committed to providing all students with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Thanks to the support of donors like the Helen and Will Webster Foundation, the organization can continue to provide critical programs and resources to help students thrive.
