Pasadena Educational Foundation volunteers helped distribute 420 boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables to area families this week. Tangerines, apples, onions, and potatoes – all in-season produce – was distributed at four of Pasadena Unified School District’s regular curbside meal pick-up sites.
Our volunteers were instrumental in determining the processes required to expand service. Produce distribution days are scheduled again in March and May, but additional days may be added in February and April due to the success of this first day.
This program was made possible by PUSD Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) partnering with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to provide fresh produce to area families. It is funded through a grant from **CalFresh.
Thank you, PEF Volunteers!
