We’re honored to partner with the Pasadena Educational Foundation to help support their efforts in the fight against hunger. Community partners like PEF are key in helping us nourish our neighbors.Albertsons, Pavilions, and Vons Foundation
Local Albertsons, Pavilions, and Vons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Community Relief program provided PEF a $15,000 grant to support summer meals for PUSD students.
PEF continued to help provide food assistance to Pasadena Unified students this summer with support from the Albertsons, Pavilions and Vons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors.
Over the past 13 months, PEF has recruited, vetted, trained, and provided PPE to more than 300 individual volunteers who have donated over 5,000 hours of their time to help PUSD distribute nearly 3,000,000 packaged meals and fresh produce at every school site in the district so that no student would experience food insecurity because schools were closed.
“With school out for the summer, many children in our community don’t have adequate access to proper nutrition. While PEF works hard to meet the needs of our PUSD students, we need help to accomplish this mission,” said Patrick Conyers, PEF Executive Director. “We’re grateful that Albertsons, Pavilions and Vons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors are partnered with us to keep kids fed this summer.”
Albertsons, Pavilions and Vons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors summer meals grants help organizations that work to bridge the nutrition gap for students without access to school meal programs during the summer break.
