Recently Pasadena Educational Foundation volunteers helped assemble and distribute seed kits and art books to Pasadena Unified School District third graders.
These “Grab & Grow” kits accompanied their plant life cycle lessons during remote learning. Each kit contained a magnifying glass, planting instructions, a small bag of dirt, a planting container, seeds, and an information booklet donated from The Huntington Library and Gardens. PUSD Master Gardener Jill McArthur leads lessons for each stage of the plant cycle using these materials – an essential part of students’ science lessons this semester.
As a part of the My Masterpieces program, the Pasadena Museum of History donated the book, Painting the Beautiful – Learning About Art & the Landscape Paintings at the Pasadena Museum of History. It will enable third grade students to view and discuss art that reflects the dynamic history and natural beauty of Pasadena from home.
