Actress and director Gillian Jacobs recently appeared on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune to raise money for Eliot Arts Magnet’s Arts Fund. Since the Eaton Fire, Jacobs has volunteered in Eliot’s Dance and Theater Department and has been a vocal champion of the school and the art learning opportunities it provides.
When Eliot’s spring musical, Shrek Jr., needed extra help after the fire, Jacobs played a major role in getting the show back on its feet. She connected the school with Center Theatre Group, giving students the chance to perform at the Ahmanson Theatre. With professional-grade costumes and sets, the students performed their hearts out despite losing their home theatre. The show went on.
Jacobs is committed to helping Eliot students keep pursuing their dreams, and appearing on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was one more way to raise money and awareness. Competing against fellow contestants Omarion and Matt Iseman, she helped raise more than $40,000 for Eliot Arts and brought awareness to the school’s Art Fund.
Thank you to Gillian Jacobs and the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune team for supporting our public schools.
