Recently, the Pasadena Educational Foundation partnered with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and the Honda Cares team for a joyful celebration at Hamilton Elementary in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day. This year, the community was excited to recognize fifth grade teacher Alden Denila for his years of work with PUSD. PEF executive director Patrick Conyers and programs director Tony Gordo also attended the event to celebrate our colleague’s accomplishments.
The event was a celebration of educators with students filling the space with cheers and excitement as the school came together to recognize Alden Denila for his astounding work as a teacher. Denila has made a lasting impact both inside and outside of the classroom, dedicating years of service to PEF’s summer enrichment program to continue helping kids.
Denila was honored with heartfelt remarks and speeches from students, colleagues, and the community he has supported for so long. As a surprise for Denila, carts filled with new classroom resources, including sports and science kits, were rolled out for his students, bringing the celebration full circle with tangible support for his program. This celebration of Denila’s work as a teacher was a moment of recognition for an exceptional educator, and a powerful reminder of the impact great teachers have on our students every day.
