Each year, Pasadena Unified School District hosts PUSD Science Fest, a volunteer-led event that brings students, educators, scientists, and community partners together for hands-on exhibits and demonstrations across science, technology, engineering, medicine, and environmental fields. Designed to spark curiosity and highlight real-world career pathways, the festival gives students and families the chance to explore how STEAM learning connects to the world around them.
At this year’s festival, members of the Pasadena Educational Foundation Board hosted a PEF table to share how the foundation supports STEAM learning across PUSD schools and highlight opportunities available through our Summer Program. Board members also shared information about how PEF supports STEM in classrooms through its annual teacher grants, which help educators bring innovative projects and hands-on learning experiences to their students.
“Science Fest shows how powerful hands-on learning can be,” said Rick Kidd, PEF Board Vice President of Community Engagement. “Through teacher grants and other programs, PEF helps bring that same spirit of exploration into classrooms across PUSD.”
