Eaton Fire Response Spotlight: Ahmanson Foundation Grant Delivers Clean Air at Home for Madison Families

Thanks to a generous $25,000 grant from The Ahmanson Foundation, Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) provided easy-to-use, high-quality Healthway air purifiers and replacement filters for Madison Elementary School families. Many Madison families experienced compromised home air quality in the wake of the Eaton Fire, making this support especially critical for their health and comfort. Cleaner air at home means healthier children, better rest, and improved focus in the classroom.

PEF worked with Principal Elisa Pérez of Madison Elementary to identify households most affected by poor air quality. The school then coordinated the distribution, ensuring families received the purifiers and filters needed to maintain clean air over time. Every dollar of the grant was used for the purchase of these air purifiers and filters.

“Seeing our families head home with air purifiers, knowing their children will breathe easier, has been incredibly meaningful for our school community,” said Dr. Pérez. “We’re grateful to The Ahmanson Foundation and PEF for investing in our students’ health and learning.”

PEF offers a special thanks to The Ahmanson Foundation, whose support demonstrates the power of community partnerships in creating healthier, more supportive environments for local students.
