At the heart of the Pasadena Educational Foundation’s mission is the belief that every student deserves an enriched educational experience. One inspiring example of this commitment in action is the Sixth Grade Lit Club at Marshall Fundamental School. Thanks to a generous grant from PEF, the club was able to dive into their latest selection, “Front Desk.” As Ms. Sara Scribner, the school’s librarian, enthusiastically notes, “A book club day is always a great day!”
This initiative is a testament to the impact of PEF’s teacher grants, which empower educators to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Previously, the club enjoyed a lively discussion of “Greenglass House,” captivating students with its unexpected plot twists and mysterious setting. The open participation policy in Marshall’s book clubs ensures that students can join at any time, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
PEF’s grants are made possible by the support of our community and partners like the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. These grants not only enhance the classroom experience but also inspire creativity and innovation across Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre. By supporting educators with the resources they need, we are helping to shape the future of our students and our community. Whether it’s exploring new literature or developing innovative projects, PEF is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of every student, every day.
