Pasadena Educational Foundation hosted Pasadena Unified School District’s administration and facilities staff – the backbone of our school district – at our annual Thanks to You BBQ on Wednesday, November 16. The barbecue is a special once a year event when employees from various administrative departments and focuses have an opportunity to relax and socialize for a couple of hours. In the November sunshine, staff savored a meal together prepared with care by the Superintendent himself… and gratitude for dedicated service was offered to all. Hot sauce optional.
Dr. Brian McDonald, PUSD Superintendent, served his now famous Jamaican jerk chicken and flank steak along with the help of his PUSD prep and grill team: Tendaji Jamal – Chief Technology Officer, Rene Arnold – Language Assessment & Development Department, Roy Boulghourjian – former school board member, Diane Orona – Administrative Services Manager, Teresa Rodriguez – Executive Secretary, and Leonard Hernandez Jr. – Director of Maintenance, Operations, Transportation, and Facilities. Volunteers and staff from PEF and PTSA Council of PUSD served sides from the Pasadena Fish Market.
“Thank you for all that you do everyday to support and nurture our students,” said Dr. McDonald to kick off the event. “Your work is greatly appreciated.”
