PUSD Student Journalists Engage at ED Talk

Each person we interviewed provided us with insightful information. Many commented on how they really appreciated having a student sitting amongst the other panelists.- Morgan Gaskell, PUSD Student

Pasadena Educational Foundation invited Pasadena Unified School District students from the Student Think Tank and John Muir Early College Magnet’s Arts, Entertainment, and Media Academy to be on-site reporters at our recent ED Talk with Larry Mantle at Caltech’s Ramo Auditorium on November 9, 2022.

Working in two-three person teams, our student journalists interviewed attendees outside the venue following the event. The journalists took photos and recorded short videos asking attendees about their thoughts on the panel discussion. Attendees commented about why they attended, what they had learned, what their key takeaways were, and why public education was important to them.

Not only did students have an opportunity to engage in a real-time journalistic experience, but PEF was able to get immediate feedback from the audience.

Special thanks to our ED Talk student journalists for their support!
