Kelly Kriebs was elected to the City Council in 2020 and became Mayor in December 2023. Prior to running for office, Kelly volunteered locally at the Sierra Madre schools and served on the Sierra Madre Little League Board, including as its Vice President.

Kelly earned her law degree from UCLA and has been a corporate lawyer for twenty-five years. She currently is a partner at the global law firm of Baker McKenzie. Her main area of practice is mergers and acquisitions and other strategic business combinations.

A fun fact is that two of Kelly’s first “real” jobs were in municipal government. She spent her college summers rotating through various departments with Eastern Municipal Water District and after college she interned in the office of the Mayor of the City of Riverside.

Kelly, her husband Brian and two kids have lived in Sierra Madre since 2009. Her oldest is a sophomore at UC Berkeley and her youngest a junior at St Francis. Kelly’s favorite Sierra Madre traditions are the Fourth of July Parade and the Christmas Candle Walk. She and her family enjoy baseball, UCLA basketball, and traveling, with favorites being trips to Iceland, Glacier National Park and Kyoto, Japan.
