Dr. Gabe Jones is the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Pacific Oaks College and has over 15 years of experience in higher education administration, including previously serving as National Director of Academics at SAE Institute North America, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Art Institute of California – Hollywood, and Academic Director of the College Preparation Program at Northwestern University. He has also taught for over 20 years at colleges and universities including UCLA, San Diego State University, and Santa Monica College.

He holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences & Comparative Education from UCLA and a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and English, both from Northwestern University. His academic research has focused on the concept of value in higher education and on the intersections of power and knowledge – what constitutes knowledge, who gets to determine what counts as knowledge, who has access to it, what channels enable or disable that access, and how each of those dimensions in turn shape our sense of self, our world, and our connections to others.
