Julia was raised in Chula Vista, CA, earned a B.A. from Baylor University and M.F.A. from Cal State University Long Beach. She began her bookselling career at Warwick’s Books & Stationery in La Jolla, California. Later she became the General Manager of Shaman Drum Bookshop in Ann Arbor, Michigan. From there, she joined Ingram Content Group, first in Field Sales in Northern California and later as the Director of National Accounts. She has served on the Board of the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association and the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc). Shis currently serves on the Playhouse Village Association Board and Executive Committee. She came to Vroman’s in January of 2020.
