The 2026 Summer Enrichment Program is shaping up to be an action-packed five weeks. Here are some of the fun and exciting things happening this week on our Summer Enrichment campuses!
Garden to Table Cooking
To better understand the food they eat, students are learning how their plants “eat”!
A theme for Regina Major’s class is the growth cycle of the plants we eat every day. One experiment used a celery stalk and some food coloring to show her students how plants “eat” through their roots and veins, turning water and nutrients in the soil into energy. As the students continue to grow their plants over the summer, they’ll have a deeper understanding of their plant’s needs.

This week’s magic trick? Graphic design!
The focus for this week was digital graphic design with Kevin Gaul showing students how to create their own digital posters and flyers. With digital learning becoming increasingly prevalent in schools everywhere, skills like graphic design have become more important than ever. Students had fun exploring software like Canva to develop their visual language skills by creating flyers for fictional businesses.

Students are learning about the exciting things happening beneath our feet!
Andrea Alcaraz’s students were all about the Earth this week. From how water erodes the ground to form rivers to the massive size of Earth’s tectonic plates, students spent the week discovering that the planet they live on is constantly changing. It all built up to Thursday, when students got to build their own mini volcanoes and simulate an eruption for themselves.
