In December, the Chargers Impact Fund, in partnership with the Bikes for Kids Foundation and Pechanga Resort Casino, hosted the 21st annual Bikes for Kids initiativeāsurprising students at Washington Elementary STEM Magnet with brand-new bicycles and helmets during a special school assembly.
The celebration featured Los Angeles Chargers players Kimani Vidal, Oronde Gadsden II, and Tuli Tuipulotu, who helped present the bikes alongside cast members from the hit television series ALL AMERICAN. As part of the event, students in second and third grade received bikes and helmets just ahead of the holiday break.
Earlier in the month, students participated in an essay contest, believing that only a small number of classmates would receive bikes. Instead, the surprise was revealed during the assembly after the winning essays were read. Bikes for Kids Foundation co-founder Bill Pollakov led the event and helped share the news with students.
The Pasadena Educational Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with the Chargers and values the opportunity to support experiences like this for Pasadena Unified students. These collaborations help bring meaningful moments to school communities and reflect the impact of long-standing partnerships focused on students.
PEF extends sincere thanks to the Chargers Impact Fund, the Bikes for Kids Foundation, Pechanga Resort Casino, the participating players and cast members, Washington Elementary staff, and everyone who helped make the event possible.
