Celebrating PUSD Staff Dedication: Thanks to You Tacos

The Pasadena Educational Foundation held “Thanks to You Tacos”, where the Pasadena Unified School District administration, warehouse, and maintenance and operations staff were honored with a lunch recognizing their commitment to our public school students. This gathering celebrated their contributions towards our school communities.

Hosted by Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, the “Thanks to You Tacos” event was held to spotlight and celebrate all of the hard work done this year by staff. Many of the staff present at the event were affected by the Eaton Fire in some way. In spite of this, these determined staff members continued to go above and beyond in supporting the students of PUSD. Dr. Blanco took the opportunity to show her deep appreciation to the community of staff who have persevered in the wake of such an intense year.

“I know we’re having some challenging times coming ahead of us, but we’ve been through challenging times before together. Our students are still going to have the best educational experience because of everything that you do every day. Thank you for everything.”
– Dr. Elizabeth Blanco

Among those present to celebrate PUSD staff were school board members, PUSD’s Superintendent’s Leadership Team, and some of PEF’s board members. With the Maintenance and Operations team and Ed Center staff there to be acknowledged for their work this year, the event highlighted the diverse range of personnel involved with the school district’s operations.

The catering was once again provided by Manny’s Party Rentals and Catering of Altadena, a local family-owned business who also almost lost their business in the fire. Lunch was filled with heartfelt appreciation honoring PUSD workers who work for the success of our schools and well wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
