PEF just wrapped up 5 weeks of summer fun on our 4 campuses. Our 22nd summer program was attended by over 1000 students. Among our four school sites we had a class catalog of over 70 classes.
To start our elementary schoolers off on the right foot, Madison was host to multiple introductory classes for every grade up to fifth. And with fun elective classes like Art Studio and Latin America Arts Tour, our Madison students had both an enriching and well rounded Summer.
Don Benito had some great hands-on classes for the movers and shakers this summer, such as Hands-on History and Music and Movement. For students who wanted to escape the Summer heat, some additional Don Benito classes included A Day at the Improv, Steam 360, and Chess
San Rafael had a wonderful summer for both our younger and older students. As our Spanish Immersion site, younger students had the awesome opportunity to really immerse themselves in the Spanish language at an early age. Our older students also had a chance to experience dual language classes such as Latin America Arts Tour, Zumba, and Island Survival.
And for our middle schoolers, Sierra Madre Middle School was packed with exciting classes for both STEM and the Humanities. Classes included the likes of LEGO Engineers, BizMatics, and the Pasadena Musical Theatre Program.
Our high school youth leaders and interns also had a blast this summer. They were amazing mentors for our younger students, always willing to help. But it wasn’t all work and no play. Our youth leaders and interns also had a lot of fun joining in on class activities with some of them even creating projects of their own.
This 2025 Summer would not have been as much of a success without our amazing staff and volunteers. From our site coordinators and office staff, to our teachers and youth leaders, everyone worked hard to make this summer fun. This summer, our team was also joined by our new RTI teaching staff who helped students with their social and emotional needs. PEF thanks our team for all their work in making this Summer a blast.
