For the over 90 Youth Leaders and Interns who participated in the 2025 Summer Enrichment Program, the Pasadena Educational Foundation extends our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude. To show our thanks and to celebrate a fun summer, PEF held an ice cream social for its volunteers at Handel’s Ice Cream. Hand-packed quarts of Spouse like a House, fresh spun chocolate milkshakes, and chocolate dipped waffle bowls topped with shiny maraschino cherries where just some of the tasty treats volunteers got to indulge in. With special thanks to Handel’s and their delicious ice cream, our volunteers got to wrap-up this Summer with some cool treats.
These motivated volunteers contributed thousands of hours to support PEF’s summer enrichment classes. Our teachers had glowing reviews about our volunteers’ efforts in the classroom and how it helped classes run smoothly. The mentorship and enthusiasm of our Youth Leaders and Interns also significantly enhanced the learning experience for our younger students, giving them a chance to hang out with the ‘cool older kids’ and making the summer more than just classes. And while many of these volunteers are expected to return again next summer, PEF sends our best wishes to those heading out into the world to seek new endeavors.
