$2.3 Million and Counting: PEF’s Commitment to Recovery and Resilience

The Eaton Fire had a devastating impact on the Pasadena Unified School District community. More than 1,000 families and 200 educators lost their homes. Many remain displaced, facing ongoing financial and emotional hardship.

In the days that followed, the Pasadena Educational Foundation launched a coordinated response—activating the Eaton Fire Response Fund and managing an outpouring of support and resources from across the country and around the world. Thanks to this incredible generosity, more than $2.3 million has already been directed into our community to support both urgent needs and long-term recovery:

  • $1.8 million in direct aid has gone to PUSD students, families, and staff.
  • Classroom Resource Grants and school-based support have provided essential tools for learning and healing. Over $700,000 has been directed to schools.
  • More than $400,000 has been invested in mental and physical health services.
  • Summer Enrichment scholarships ensure that affected families can continue to access joyful, engaging learning experiences.
  • Partnerships and advocacy through the Eaton Fire Collaborative—and more—help ensure our schools are part of a strong, united recovery effort.

PEF’s response is rooted in the belief that schools are the heart of a resilient community. This is a commitment not just for today, but for the future—ensuring that our students and educators can recover, rebuild, and thrive.

Thank you for standing with us and making this work possible.
