PEF Receives $1 Million from Ballmer Group to Support PUSD Families and Staff

The Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) is deeply grateful to the Ballmer Group for their generous $1 million gift in support of Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) families and staff affected by the Eaton Fire. This contribution will provide assistance to help with immediate and future needs as our community recovers.

The Ballmers have dedicated $15 million in emergency relief funding to support wildfire recovery efforts across the region, pr oviding critical aid to 14 funds and 12 organizations assisting displaced families, first responders, and communities in need. PEF is honored to be among the organizations receiving support to help PUSD families and staff rebuild and recover.

“The Eaton Fire has devastated our PUSD community—families and staff have lost their homes, belongings, and sense of stability. Thanks to the Ballmer Group’s extraordinary generosity, we can provide much-needed relief,” said Patrick Conyers, Executive Director of PEF. “This is just the beginning of what will be a long recovery, and PEF is committed to standing with our PUSD community every step of the way.”

PEF is a community-based organization whose board and staff are deeply connected to Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre—we live and work here, and like so many, we are experiencing this crisis firsthand. The PEF Response Fund was established to provide relief, and we are working as quickly as possible to get assistance to those who need it most.

PUSD families and staff can register for assistance at http://pased.org/fire-aid-reg.

Together, we will help each other through this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to support those in need.
