Even in Southern California, winter means cooler nights. For many, this is a welcome change following our long summers. For others, it is a challenge.
Recently volunteers from the Junior League of Pasadena held a blanket drive for Pasadena Unified School District’s Families in Transition (FIT). FIT supports students and families experiencing homelessness. Thanks to their donations of new, warm blankets, many students will get a restful night’s sleep. And a good night’s sleep enables better learning and concentration.
As we celebrate the generosity of Junior League of Pasadena, it’s important to remember that the needs of students experiencing homelessness extend beyond warm blankets. Access to stable housing, nutritious meals, and emotional support are critical for their success. The Pasadena Educational Foundation is committed to supporting programs like Families in Transition to ensure these students have the resources they need to thrive. Together, we can create a foundation of stability and hope, empowering every student to achieve their full potential, regardless of their circumstances.
Special thanks to the Junior League of Pasadena for their warmth and care!
