The Pasadena Educational Foundation was proud to take part in the Los Angeles County Philanthropy Summit for Public Education hosted by the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation on Tuesday, April 9. Titled Uniting for Student Success, the summit brought together education leaders, funders, and community stakeholders to discuss the power of philanthropy in supporting public schools across Los Angeles County.
Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, Interim Superintendent of the Pasadena Unified School District, and Dr. Patrick Conyers, Executive Director of the Pasadena Educational Foundation, participated on a panel discussion on Building a Culture of Philanthropy in Los Angeles County. Facilitated by Dr. Debra Duardo, Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools, they shared insights on how the Pasadena community has come together to support local public schools through strategic partnerships and innovative fundraising initiatives.
The summit also featured a range of informative sessions, including Foundation Fundamentals, Cultivating Connections, and Empowering Futures. Pasadena Educational Foundation staff members attended these sessions to learn more about best practices and explore strategies for strengthening their work.
“This summit was an invaluable opportunity for us to connect with other education foundations, share knowledge, and discuss innovative approaches to supporting public education,” said Dr. Conyers. “We look forward to applying the insights we gained to our work.”
