Distribute Grab & Grow Kits & Art Books to 3rd Graders
On Monday, October 05, 2020, volunteers are needed to distribute seed kits and art books to PUSD 3rd graders. These “Grab & Grow” kits accompany their plant life cycle lessons. Each kit will contain a small bag of dirt, a planting container, seeds, an information booklet from Huntington Gardens, a magnifying glass, and instructions. This kit is essential for our students’ science lessons this semester.
Thanks to the Pasadena Museum of History and our My Masterpieces program, 3rd grade students will also be given the book, Painting the Beautiful – Learning About Art & the Landscape Paintings at the Pasadena Museum of History. It will enable them to view and discuss art that reflects the dynamic history and natural beauty of Pasadena from home! Learn more about our My Masterpieces Program.
9 AM – 12 PM
Monday, Oct. 5
*Please arrive 15 minutes early to start your shift*
NOTE – An additional day has been added for Washington Elementary on Thursday, Oct. 8. See details in the sign up area on this page.
WHERE TO GO:
This will vary per school site. Report to the meal distribution area at the school where you sign up to volunteer. Look for the pop-up tents!
Park in the parking lot away from the meal distribution area or on a nearby street adhering to all parking signs.
Dress for the weather, comfort, and mobility.
**All volunteers help with the understanding that they do so at their own risk. Anytime a person leaves their home, they increase their chance of exposure to COVID-19.**
- High school students aged 15 and up can serve with parent permission and if they do not have synchronous learning during distribution hours.
- Please wear your own face covering, such as a bandana, scarf, or mask. Hand sanitizer & gloves will be provided.
**Given the state mandate of no more than 10 people gathering at a time, we are asking for a specific number of volunteers. If you cannot make your shift, please let us know right away. Never volunteer if you are not feeling well. Cancel your shift.**
On the Sunday before the distribution, October 4, a link to more detailed distribution instructions will be emailed to those who sign up to volunteer.
We are raising funds to safely distribute meals to families without transportation to the PUSD managed distribution sites.

All those who volunteer agree to our standard Indemnity Waiver, Medical and Photo Release by default.
