Condor Readers Soar!
Cleveland Elementary is creating a school-wide buzz about reading!
On December 2nd, Cleveland students invited community experts in the fields of conservation, environmental education, school gardens, tree preservation and literacy to see and discuss the projects they had created after reading the Lorax by Dr. Seuss. At the end of the event, students received a book to take home of their own choice provided by Reading is Fundamental of Southern California through a donor to the Pasadena Educational Foundation.
With the help of a PEF Teacher Grant, Principal Shannon Malone, teachers and staff at Cleveland will continue these efforts throughout the year to encourage students to learn to love reading.
Community involvement and support is vital to this effort, so we hope you will join us in making literacy a priority.
