2014 Principal for a Day
WELCOME TO PASADENA UNIFIED PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY
Sponsored by Merrill Lynch and the Pasadena Educational Foundation, Pasadena Unified Principal for a Day is a catalyst for relationships between local businesses and schools that bring volunteers, resources and motivation to our students and enrich our community.
On October 23, 2014 the Pasadena Educational Foundation invited business and community leaders to explore our vibrant Pasadena Unified School District campuses by shadowing a school principal for a day. Principal for a Day is always an enlightening day of inspiration, exploration, and fun as our guest principals explore the challenges, participate in the victories, and share in the joy of being on a school campus.
Luncheon Keynote Speaker
Executive Director, Pasadena Community Foundation
Jennifer Fleming DeVoll joined the Pasadena Community Foundation in December 2002 and has served as Executive Director for almost twelve years. During that time she has worked with individuals, families and local groups to establish charitable funds and create effective grant making programs. Under her leadership, Pasadena’s “hometown” foundation has grown from $16 million to $45 million in assets. PCF manages about 300 charitable funds and endowments. The Foundation has invested over $23 million in discretionary grants to local non-profits and an additional $43 million in grants on behalf of its donors. The Pasadena Educational Foundation is the single largest grantee having received almost $1.2 million in grants.
Jennifer graduated from Stanford University and after jobs in New York, Boston and Los Angeles, she is pleased to be working where she grew up and where she raised her own children - Pasadena.
She is active in the Pasadena community as a member of Pasadena Rotary and past president of the San Gabriel Valley Estate Planning Council. She serves on the boards of Community Housing Management Services, an affordable senior housing subsidiary of Episcopal Communities & Services, the University Club of Pasadena and on the Boards of the Ann Peppers and Michael J.
