“I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as Principal at Madison Elementary.  I come from a farm-working family.  I was the first in my family to graduate from college and to receive a Master’s Degree.  I truly believe that determination, hard-work and ‘Corazon’ (heart) are needed to achieve one’s full potential.  It is through education that we create a world of possibilities for children.  We, the staff at Madison, take our responsibility as educators very serious.  We understand that parents are entrusting to us what is most precious to them, their children.”

Our mission at James Madison Elementary School is to provide our students with a positive and rigorous learning environment. We will prepare our children to be respectful, literate, critical thinkers, and caring members of the community. We are committed to empowering our children to reach their full potential both socially and academically.

Principal for a Day: Jennifer DeVoll
Executive Director Pasadena Community Foundation

Jennifer DeVoll has served as Executive Director of the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) for ten years.  After graduating from Stanford University, she worked for in the advertising industry for several years.  She was recruited by a client to work for a for-profit hospital company, American Medical International.  She then made the transition to the non-profit sector working for Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and then and Hollenbeck Home, a retirement community in East Los Angeles. 

She is active in the Pasadena community as immediate past president of the Estate Planning Council San Gabriel Valley.  She serves on the boards of Community Housing Management Services, a subsidiary of Episcopal Communities & Services, the Ann Peppers Foundation, the Michael J. Connell Foundation and is a member of Pasadena Rotary. 

Under her leadership, Pasadena’s “hometown” foundation has grown from $16 million to over $40 million in assets. 

She is married to Matt DeVoll and has two adult children Grace and Wesley.
