“Cleveland Elementary School is committed to meeting the academic and social needs of all students in a caring, safe and respectful environment where all children can excel.”

Shannon Malone is in her third year as principal of Cleveland Elementary School. She led the Pasadena Unified School District's (PUSD) professional development, and started her career teaching Spanish at Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles.
      
As coordinator of PUSD's professional development unit, Ms. Malone was key to strengthening the capacity and skills of all employees. She coordinated and planned professional development for teachers, counselors, non-teaching and administrative staff, including summer professional development institutes

Enrichment Programs include: STEAM focus with a 50% Science Teachers and ETM-LA (Education Through Music, all students receive music instruction.)

After School Programs: PEF helped initiate and continues to secure funding for the LEARNs after school program that serves 83 students from Cleveland Elementary. PEF also helps to fund RAMP up Math, an afterschool math acceleration program. Reading Partners, a reading tutorial program, is also hosted at Cleveland.

Community Partners include: Neighborhood Church, Red Hen Press, Western Justice, East Arroyo Residential Association, NATHA, and Healthy Start Family Center.

Principal for a Day: Jeffrey Scofield
Senior Vice President, Private Client Advisor US Trust-Bank of America

 

Jeff is a Senior Vice President, Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management.  Jeff joined U.S. Trust in 2011, and has over 20 years of wealth and investment management experience.  Based in Pasadena, he leads a team of highly credentialed specialist responsible for providing and executing customized wealth management strategies to high net worth individuals, family offices and foundations.  He works with his clients CPA’s and Attorneys to create strategies focused on preserving their wealth, building a legacy, sharing their wealth with the next generation, planning for growth and succession in their private business and supporting charitable causes important to his clients. 

Prior to assuming this role, Jeff was a Senior Vice President and Branch Manager with Wells Fargo Investment Advisors in Pasadena, CA.  He was also a Senior Vice President, Market Director of Bank of America Investment Services in Beverly Hills, CA and Vice President, Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.

Jeff is involved with numerous charitable endeavors in Pasadena and Los Angeles.  He is currently serving as a board member with Education through Music Los Angeles, whose mission is to promote and support music instruction in Los Angeles schools.  He received his BA in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles and resides in Altadena, California with his wife Hilary and three children.
