Principal: Ms. Rita Exposito

Rita Exposito is in her fourth year as principal at Jackson Elementary School. She formerly served as a resource teacher at Washington Accelerated Elementary School, where her focus was on primary literacy and English learner programs. Mrs. Exposito earned her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu. She earned her administrative credential and Masters degree from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Jackson School seeks to provide a challenging learning environment where all students achieve their maximum potential through the instruction of concepts and skills needed to master grade level standards. We promote a community that fosters mutual respect and social responsibility enhanced by a strong partnership between home and school. Jackson students will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to be productive citizens of the 21st century.

Health Services: School Nurse, Healthy Start office, Pacific Clinics, Health Clerk. PEF raises funds to continue the services of the Jackson Family Center, providing support for the nurse practitioner, case manager and coordinator, plus supplies and medications.

Principal for a Day: Carlos Diaz
Branch Manager US Bank

Carlos Diaz grew up here locally in the Southern California area. He graduated from Rowland High School in Rowland Heights, then attended Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier.  Mr. Diaz began his career in banking as a part time teller when he was going to college, moving his way up the ranks.  He became securities licensed by the NASD in 1999, and he went to work for Cal National as the branch manager ten years later.

The majority of his time outside of work is spent with his thirteen year old son.  His son loves sports, so they like to spend their free time playing basketball, baseball and have recently picked up golf as a hobby.

Principal for a Day: Marah Lyvers
Director Tom Sawyer Camps

Marah has been a TSC staff member for many years. Summer 1998 she worked at Catalina Island Camps as Program Director, returning to TSC in the summer of 1999 to direct our Aquatics Program. Summer 2000 she started as Director of TSCTOO!. She is now the director of Summer Day Camp. During the school year, Marah is the Director of our After School Camp Programs. She also heads up our ropes course program and the desert trip. Marah is active at both the Local and National level of the American Camp Association, volunteering her time with planning, training and helping other camps to grow their programs.
